castle is burning. The fire was caused by a bush fire on Sunday. All the air-holes are stopped, and it is expected that the fire will be put out. Thirty men have been thrown out of employment.
Mr Henry Roman is announced as a candidate for the seat vacated by Mr Rodd, for the Northern Goldfields.
John Cahill, a settler on the Macquarie, eighteen miles from Bathurst, was found under a tree pinned to the earth. He died just after being removed.
A number of public meetings have been held in various parts of the Colony, on the education question.
Millions of locusts, travelling towards Tamwortb, are destroying the vegetation of Breeza Plains.
