Marquis gained when two years old first prize at Bacchus Marsh and Melton, and second ia Melbourne, and when three years eld, the Grand National Prize of LlO at Enyeton against all comers. He is a bright bay, stands nearly 17 hands high, has splendid legs, is a sure foal getter and gets them good, some of his progeny having already been sold at high prices in Victoria.
