Mangere Will Be Site Of Auckland's Airport
AUCKLAND, Dee. 30. . Mangere will almost certainly be the site of Auckland's international airport, the Minister of Works, Mr. Goosman, while giving no secrets away, said today. No further consideration had been given to Pakuranga and no site other than Mangere was being in•peeted at present. xne xViiiuoter visited Mangere today and discussed various angles of the projeet with Mr. W. L. Bell, District Publie Works Engineer, Mr. F. L. A. Gotz, M.P. for Otahuhu, was also present. Mr. Goosman said no indication could be given yet- when a decision was likely to be made. 11 e knew the districi well, having attended the Mangere sehool 40 years ago.
