Dr. Thorntou Page, of Ycfkes Observatory, ChicagOj reported to the Arnericaii Astroadmicai Society today that he had' located a star with a surface tempcrtaure of- 270,000 degtees Fahrenheit compared with thd sun 's 10,000 degrees. The star and its ring aebula have been located in the constellation Lyra. # : The . central star, which is probabJy larger than the sun, was untold milNons of miies farther from the earth than the sun. Dr Page added that thousands qf stal's were hotter than the sun but the temperature of the new star was two to three times greater than any previously reported. -
