WELLINGTON, Dec. 30. Form was well distributed over the Christmas period of raeing and in many cases this form may provide a good guide to New Year meetings opening tomorrow and Monday. Main interest tomorrow will centre in the opening day of the Wairarapa iixture at Tauherenikau, where the fields are of good size. Other meetings totnorrow are the first days of' Hawke's Bay "and Greymouth, while followers of the light harness sport will. have > the concluding day of the Auckland Iixture and opening day of Canterbury Park Trots. • •
The Wairarapa Cup has drawn 13 and of these bdst recent form has been shown. by Liebestraum, Pierre, Renowned and Lady Minter, but improvers are Royal Victor, Barrage and Abbotsford, it looks like a tussle between Liebestraum and Renowned. If the going is firm Liebestraum can be expected to give a very good account of himseif. The Wardeil Handicap, the open sprint on the card, appears to rest with Coshona, New Deer, Faithfui Pal and Blue Bonny. Coshona has a chance to make amends here for recent failures. At Hastings, where the Hawke's Bay meeting opens, the New Year Handicap looks, on recent form, like Super Snipe adding a win stake to her credit. Her hardest opposition is likely to come from tne nortnern visitor Beaute, His Nibs and Welcome Guest. On her home track False Step looks like holding a mortgage on the Stewards' Handicap. .
