Obituary

MR. TERETIU HOHIPUHA The death occurred with tragic suddenness on Saturday of Mr. Teretiu (Ju) Hohipuha, son of Mrs. R. Hohipuha, of Aotaki Street. He was following his normal pursuits during Friday, when he felt suddenly ill. Later he was admitted to the Palmerston North Hospital, but failed to recover. A popular figure in the sporting world, Mr. Hohipuha played senior football for Otaki and' Onslow and was a prominent mernber of the Raukawa Softball Club - of which he was captain. Much sympathy is felt for his bereaved mother, two brothers and three sisters. The funeral took place at Otaki on Tuesday. An appreciation of Mr. Hohipuha's prowess at softball was made today by "Strike One," the "Chrbnicie's" softball commentator. He said that besides being prominent in club games, Mr. Hohipuha was a nominee for the B grade representatives and one who showed promise of attaining high honours. "Strike One" joins in extending sympathy to the bereaved family.
