Fishing' At Taupo. Strong westerly weather has prejudiced Christmas trout fishing in the Taupo district. Angling has been practicaliy limited. to a few liours on Sunday and Monday mornings and, for the comparatively few sportsmen who were on the river, results were disappointing. There are rec.ord _numbers 1 of campers. About -eight men were fishing at the mouth of the Waiatahanui River yesterday morning, but by the afternoon the water was unfishable because of the heavy breakers. Trout that have been taken have been only mediocre in quality and have included some fish which have not yet gained condition after late spawning. All fishing lodges in the Rotorua area are full. Fishing is reported to be only fair. •
