The attention of the .Whangarei Borough Council is to be drawn to the ' fact that * more than one quarter of the fireS/ in its area during.the past four months were in chimneys, and the council is to be asked that steps be taken to prevent such fires. The Whangarei Fire Board decided on this action after considering the report of its superintendent.- It was also decided to inform the council that it viewed the incidence of chimney fires with alarm.
