Making Lettuces Last.
How to make a sixpenny bunch i of lettuce plants last a family for six months is described by Mr, W. Stuart Wilson, founder of, the boys' and girls' agriculttiral clubs In New Zealand. "Keep removing the outer leaves, which are richest in chloroph.yll and vitamins," he says. . "In that way, an inexhaustible supply can be obtained from the same stock for the whole season. When one row has been used, pass on to the leaves of the next while the first row is growing again. The plants themselves thrive under this treatment."-
