Competition Croquet Games
Playing at Levin last week Shannon were defeated by Levin in the first round of the croquet competition for the Sherwood Cup. The final score on the day's play was Levin '46, Shannon 37. The individual scores were as follows with Levin players mentioned first: — •Singles: Mrs. Dalzell beat Mrs. Bovis 26 — 11. Doubles: Mesdames Findlater and Bull lost to Mesdames Munro and Morrison 20—26. in a challenge match for ladder su'premacy Mrs. Wenham beat Mrs. Gilmour 26 — 15. The weekly Brown Buttons match was won. by Mesdames Gilmour and Staples, who beat Mesdames Mason and Bull 26 — 16. No matches will be played during the jhol'iday period.
