Prices Firm At Dunedin Wool Sale
DUNEDIN, Dec. 21. The second day of the double wool sale in Dunedin today, saw prices about leveJ with those on t}ie first day lasi Monday^ The sale was again buoyant and bidding was particularly keen throughout the day. Competition was very bright for classes tliat secured high prices on the first day. Bidding was well distributed. The Continent and Bradford were the largest buyers wliile French and German buyers again }ed the strong competition for bellies and pieces. The good value.i secured on Monday were eclipsed todaj by offerings from Central Otago. In almost every other respect the sale was practically a continuatioh of Mon day 's auction. • Top price for the day was 80fd se-. cured by Robert Jopp, of Chatto Creek, for four baies of super Merino. This exceeded the t^p price on Monday which was 78jid gained by Malvern Downs estate, Tarras, for Merino. Mr. Jopp also received 75Jd today for four bales of Merino hogget. . Another lot today, five bales of super Merino grown bj' Mr. G. J. Paterson, of Gimmerburn, realised 754d. In quarter-bred wool, top price went to Mr. James McArthur, of Clyde, who sold five bales of super quarter-bred at 68id. Mr. McArt'hur also secured 66Jd for five bales of superfine halfbred. Messrs E. W. Sutton and Son, Moa Flat Falls, obtained 68d. for three bales of super half'-bred hogget. . Mr. C. Smaill, Aroha, Moa Flat, secured the good value of 67d for three bales of superfine Corriedale.
