More Greyhound Successes
Local intierest in • greyhound racing was focussed- on the meeting at Foxton Beach on Saturday, the final fixture hefore the championships are decided next weekend. Although the fields were not big, there was no lack of good class competitors and racing was of a high standard. * Local dogs "again played a prominent part in events in which they competed. Master Luna, the: hurdle dog owned by Mr. Alan Bro.oks, returned two splendid winning performance^ in accounting for both open hurdle events. The first resulted in a five length win and on his second appearance he beat the track record holder by* eight lengths, bringing his tqtal wins to date up to twelve, which have returned his owner oveir £51 in stakes since he took this grand jumper over some nine months ago. Black Pool Sam, the brilliant pup owned by the local club's president, Mr. F. Brunell, met with a severe eheck after travelling a furlong, and could not pull back the flying Timoshenko, who put a break.of six lengths on the local dog when he was checked. Black Pool Sam's. performance in finishing. within a. length of the winner was thus- highly. creditable, while t Tracer, owned by Mrs. Brunell, won a Novice Flat event very comfortably. .
