Down cross lambs sold at 26s 8d to 31s lOd, white-faced lamb,-; brought to 27s 3d;'two-tooth ewes mad.: 46s 7d to 50s, fattening ewes 24s auo shorn ewes with lambs at toot 20s 3d to 27s lOd (alf counted). Spring iambs and down two-tooths commanded attention but' values foi ewe and wether niutton -were easier Prime wethers were traded at '408.4^ to 42s 4d with handy weights at 39s io to 39s lOd. For prime ewes butcher.^ paid 29s lOd to 32s ld, medium weights kringing 28s 4d to 29s 4d.and unfmishetl 25s lOd. Good iambs sold at 38s ld to 41s ld and iightef at 35s lOd. Dowii two-tooths sold at 36s lOd to 40s 7d Store cattle values held up well despite the interest of only a moderate ai tendance of buyers. Only 225 head oi cattle came forward including severa. attractive drafts for.farmers requiring beasts to controi their pastures. As iu recent weeks, keenest interest waagain focused on cattle offering a fair ly quiek turnover. Forward bullock.sold at £20 4s, iighter bullocks mahiny £17 2s. Two-year A.A. steefs which were fuil of quality, excited keen com petition to seiJ at £16. Other two yeai steers reaiised £11 8s to £13. Smal. yearling steers off hard country weri traded at £8 9s. Oows and ealves madt. £15 6s and empty cows £9 15s to £11. Ox beef was in good supply m the fa: cattle offering of 159 head. Butcher were offered some good quality line including a selection of summer weigii beasts. Through the market was. noi unusually lively, district butchers pro vided a steady inquiry at ruling rates Best finished bullocks came forward ti sell at up to £24 18s 6d. Some splendici quality heifer beef commanded • keen competition to sell at £17 13s 6d to £.19 8s 6d, a pen of live selling at the top figure. Prime ox reaiised £23 8s Gd to £24 18s 6d, light to medium weight £2i Is to £22 18s 6d and unfinished at £1/ 18s 6d to £20 8s 6d. Heavy heifers iu prime order were traded at £17 13s 6u to £19 8s 6d, medium weights selling ai £16 13s 6d and Iighter at £14 18s 6d to £15 6s.
