The loroier Bulgarian ViceRrerpier, Traicho Ko.atov, was today sentenced t© dseath by the Bulg.anari; Supreme Court,. whieh had b.een trying hina.oB tireasoii charges. The former Pinance Minister, Ivan , Stephanov, was sentenced tio, be hanged. There is. noi appeal from the sentence, whieh w-ajs given. by -a Supreme Court eornposed o>f three judges and- four jurors elected by the BulgaFjan Parliament. .. Five of Kostov's ten co-diefend-ants, ineluding Stephanov and the former rubber king,. Ivan Gevrenov, were then sentenced to, life imprisonment. Three of the other defendants reeeived 15 yeaors, one 12 years and one- eight years. Al'l were accused of treason in an alleged plot to separate Bulgaria fro-m Russia and a-nnex it to Yugoslavia in an anti-Soviet Balkan federation. Kostov was the- only one of the ac-. cused to, claim innoeence.
