AUCKLAND, Dec. 13. Inflamation to a nerve in theleft t'oot has necessitated the" with d ra wai of D. M. Harris, national 440 and' 880 yards athletics record holder, from the Auckland half-mile clianipionship on Satttr-' day. The injury was indirectly eaused; by the spiked achillies tendon which he received while -runiiing in the 800 inetres at the Olympic Games last year., Harris has been advised to have a complete rest for-a week and then to do. a weelc's gentle work. Ile will then be adVised whether to continue running or have a complete rest.
