On The Bowling Green

The senior games in the Country Pennant series were continued at Otaki at the weekend when mem'bers of the Otaki Bowling Club met Plimmerton at Otaki. Games resulted as follows, Otaki rinks being mentioned first: — Kearns, Bartosh, Pike, Walsh (s) 26, beat Dobson, Barlow, Ohapman, Bramley (s) 12; Temuera, Southgate, Baker, Eaton (s) 17, lost to Barlow, Livingstone, Baumber, Southward (s) 31. Intermediate pennant games were played at Paraparaumu between two Paraparaumu and Otaki rinks, wifch the former club winning both matches. Results were as follows, with Otaki rinks mentioned first:— Heath, Young, Jenkins, W. Jepson (s) 15, lost to Thomson, Cheetham, Knight, Hyde (s) 19; Jensen, Whitelaw, Avery, Kendrick (s) 10, lost to Young, Wilson, Ritcher, West (s) 27. Karori will be visiting Otaki on Saturday next for the annual inter-club contest for the Robert Shield. The visitors have advised that they will be present in force and a full green is anticipated.
