Three Swedish Girls Killed In Crossing Smash

Received Wednesday, 10.10 a.m. STOCKHOLM, Dec. 13. Three Swedish girls, "Queens of Light," were killed today by the 60 m.p.h. Malmoe express when it struck the car in which they were travelling at a level crossing. The queens were blondes chosen to take part in the anhual Swedish Festival of Light, held each year on December 13, when, according to tradition, the sun prepares for its return northward. The three girls killed wfere in ihe back of the car. The driver and two other girls in the front escaped death, as the engine's 1 snowplough struck the rear end of the vehicle. Lighted can'dles from the five girls' headdresses were scattered over the railway line. ;
