Te Horo Institute Holds Monthly Meeting
The December meetirig' 'of fhe Te Horo Women's Institute was held in the Te Horo Hall recently, when the president, Mrs. 'W. Clark.-opened the meeting. Several apoiogies for absence aiccounted for the not over large attendance, and after routine business had been dispensed with the remainder of the afternoon was devoted to social items and the singing of carols. A parade of hats provided much merriment and a most novel and highly amusing hat was produced by Mrs. C. Walker, with awards for the most stylish exhibits going to Mrs. O. Shimack (first) and Mrs. P. Ashworth (second) . Competition games were conducted by Mesdames A. L. Macdonald and P. Ashworth. Mrs. C. Strom won first prize. Monthly competitions resulted as follows: — Best flower: Mrs. Ashworth 1, Mrs. Walker 2, Mrs. L. Styles 3. Soft toy: Mrs. L. Stjrles 1, Mrs. C. Sutton 2. Presentation box of flowers: Mrs. C. Sutton 1, Mrs. O. Shirnack 2, Mrs. C Walker 1 3 *A deligh'tful afternoon tea was served by ihe hostesses, Mes-. i dames K". Spiers and O. Shirnack and the singing of further carols brought a pleasant afternoon to a close. ! • • • .
