London Wool Report
Received ironday 7 p.m. LONDON, Dec. 12. The Bradford top market is recovering its poise after the slight setback to New Zealand medium erossbred prices • which began in London reeently and •was refiected in New Zealand last vveek, states _.thn_ International Wool Beeretariar, special news service. Tliis has not seriously undermined confidence among consumers but has created an elenient of uncertainty, and new business in inediutn erossbred tops is at a temporary standstill until users satisfy I tliemselves no major price movement is. I in prospect. The present view here is that the spot premium on medium erossbred combing wools in London had reaehed norma! proportions^and it is this premium which has been shortenecF rather than basic selling prices in erossbred wool. Some New Zealand cross- ' bred's ifi London last week were 6d or more per clear pound dearer than eom- ' parhble wools selling in New Zealand but the price modification has brougkt London . prices nearer New Zealand parity. Today, in faet, sonie cr-oSs-breds in London are slightly firmer than a wdpk ago and if London finishes firm, confidence here -will soon/be fully restored. _
