Inter-School Sports
Last Wednesday afternoon tennis, longball and cricket teams from the Levin. School visited Shannon and played matcheg agains't local school teams. All games were well contested, although the visitors were the winners of the tournament by a comfortable* margin. The 'boys' tennis competitions were uf a particularly high standard, the scores not being a.true in dication of ihe closeness of the gam'es. The visiting cricketers bowled and fielded well and outplayed the local boys. The 'resultsi of the games are as follows, with Levin players being mentionea. first: — Tennis .—Singles: Reo beat Popo 6 — 0, Procter lost to Cootes 4—6, Wong Shee beat Graham 6 — 4, T. Wong Shee beat Morrison- 6—1, P. Rqbbie beat E. Barber 6— b, B. Williams beat L. ' Homer 6 — 0. Doubles: Reo .and Williams bea't Pope and Homer 6—2, Wong Shee and Robbie beat Graham an'd Barber 6—3, Procter and T. Wong Shee beat Cootes and Morrison 6 — 2. Levin won eight games to Shannon's "one. In the cricket, Levin won on the first innings by 11 runs and in the senior long-ball matches Levin were the winners, while Shannon won the junior matches.
