Mr. C. E. Wiseley To Leave On Transfer
It is understooq that Mr. C. E. Wiseley of..the staff of the Levin Primary School will shortly be transferred on proffiotion to Pongaroa (Bush) where he will be head ceacher at the school there. He anticipates that the transfer will take place early in the New Year. Mr. Wiseley came to Levin on November 1, 1939, and during the past 10 years has taken an active part in many. activities in the town where both he and his wife and children have become very well known and have made many friends. During his period in Levin, Mr. Wiseley was fortunate in twice receiving promotion within the school. Early iin 1944 he6 left teaching for a period to serve in the 2 N.Z.E.F., joining an infantry battalion in Italy. He returned early in 1946. Since then he has been a very active member of the locai R.S.A. and eontinuously on its executive committee. At the last annual meeting he was appointed vice-president. A keen Rugby e-nthusiast, he has been an actiye member of the Horowhenua Referees' Association since 1940 and a member of the Rugby tTnion's management committee for six years. In school activity he has been most prominent. A popular teacher and good organiser, he proved an asset and will be greatly missed. He is an active member of the Horowhenua branch of the New Zealand Educationai Institute and as general secretary of the Horowhenua Boys' and Girls' AgriculI tural Clubs since 1940 he has done much towards the promotion of interest and activity in agriculturai matters.
