SHARING OF BRITISH MEAT TRADE
LONDON, Dec. 5. The first share of Britaih's; meat 4 trade must be reserved for the home Produeer, the second share for Bri-ti.-h Empire producers, and after that such exporters as South America, p'tid Sir Henry Turner, director of the meat division of the Ministry of Food. He said that to give every Briton not less meat than in prewar days Would require an additional 600,000 tons a year above the 1,160,000 tons at present consumed in Britain. British farmers, with more cattle than they had before the war, were producing only 85 per cent. of the beef they provided in 1939.
