CHRISTCHURCH, NoV. 30. ' ' The Canterbury Housewives ' Union views with alarm the statement by Mr Burrowes that the master bakers will not accept the decision of the' Price Tribunal. It eonsiders any baker who refuses to accept this decision and threatens direct action is contrayenijig the terms of his licence." This ietter was sent by the Canterbury Housewives' Union to the> Minister of Industries and Commerce (the Hon. A. H. Nordmeyer) following. the statement made by the secretary of the New -Zealand Federation of Master Bakers and Pastryeooks, (Mr George R. Burrowes) yesterday. The president of the union (Mrs M. E. Furey) said that the union 's- committee was concerned about the .threat in Mr Burrowe's decision to hold a special general meeting of the baking industry in Wellington to consider Mr Nordmeyer 's rejection of the propojsal by the federation that three practising accountants should review bread prices. "If the federation refuses to accept' the* Price Tribunal 's decision, then it is reducing it to a farce," concluded .Mrs, Furey. -!-
