N.Z. Pinus For Paper Test In U.S.A.

AUCKLAND, Dec. 1. Pulpwood for paper tests in a Texas mill will leave Rotorua in the next few days for Auckland where it will be loaded. on the steamer Port Albany. About 560 tons will be consigned and 70 trucks will be required- to move it. Most of it will be sent by a special goods train leaving Rotorua tomorrow. The shipment, which will provide enough timber for oue day's run in the paper mill at Lufkin, Texas, will assist to determine the suitability of New Zealand pinus iusignis timber for paper mauufacture. This trial day will provide the preparation needed for tne establishment of a State mill at Murupara. The Port Albany will deliver the loga at Galveston, Texas, She is expected to sail from Auckland at the eiid oi next week. A further 300,000 feet of timber is being railed from Rotorua to Tauranga for loading aboard the Australian steamer James Cook.
