Received Wednesday, 7 p>m. WASHINGTON, Nov. 29. United States plans to make a new seriea of atomic weapons tests at Eniwetok in the -Bacifie. The United States Atomic Energy Commission and Defence Department, in making the announcement, gave no indication when the tests wiil be held. The tests are to determine the effieiency of improved weapons developed since the last experiments at the Eniwetok proying grounds in the spring of 1948. - Lieut.-General Elwood R. Quesada, United States Air Force, will be in command of the operations. The tests will be. the third of a seriea eonducted since -the war.- -The first was at the Bikini atoll in June and July of 1946 when one atomic bomb was exploded in the air ;and a second under water. Three bembs I were exploded during the tests at Eniwetok in April and May 1948.
