Plenty Of Apples And Pears In Hawke's Bay
HASTINGS, Nov. 30. Notwithstanding hail damage to some orchards, Hawke's Bay's apple erop is estimated to produce 885,800 eases during the fortheoming season. This compares more than favourably with last season 's aetual overall crop of 727.000 cases marketed through all avenuea. Had it not been for the troublesome season, it is possible the yield would have been a record. The pear crop will be a good deal : lighter than last season and stone fruits, whieh. were hit both by frost and hail, are not expected to produce anything like the quantity harvested last season.
