Union Asks Reds To Declare Themselves

EveAofficial of the Transport and GeneraWorkers' Union has been given until tomorrow to return to union headquarters a signed declaration that he is not a Communist or Fascist, says the Daily Telegraph 's industrial correspondent. Those from whora no declaration is received are unlikely to hold offiee beyond the end of the year. The decision to ban Communists and Fascists from office was taken at the union 's biennial delegate conference last July. The union, which is Britain 's largest with a membership of 1,300,000, has 560 full time paid officials. It is not known how many are Communists but one estimate puts the number at about 20.
