28 Ounce Baby Carried In a Shoe Box
SYDNEY, Nov. 27. A 28-ounce baby wag carried 60 miles j in a shoe box to Ryde Hospital. The | baby was paeked in cotton wool. Born last Saturday, . three months | premature, the baby was taken by ambulance for ineubation treatment at Ryde. Matron Lower, who attended the birth of the baby girl, said: "The baby was very blue at birth, but she has made a wonderful recovery and is now quite pink, As soon as she was born we put her in a speeially heated crib. She was between nine and ten icties long. I fed her the first day on glucose^ and brandv. On Simday we began tube-feeding her with milk taken from the mother. " A baby girl born at the Mater Miserieordiae Private Maternity Hospital, Sydney, on March 22 this year, weighed only 26£ ounces. She was 12^} inches long.
