ENGLISHMAN LOOKS AT ELECTION CAMPAIGN
AUCKLAND, Nov. 22. The dignity and modoration in which both sides were conducting the campaign inipressed the well-known foreign correspondent, Mr G. Ward Price, during a week spent in the Dominion studying election prospeets. Mr Price left by air this morning for Austraiia. "The English General Election campaign next year is likely to be a good deal more lively than this one has been, ' ' he said in an interview. ' ' But perhaps this is because you have the cushion of prosperity in New Zealand. Well-f'ed people have better control oi" tempers than people whose individua! weekly ration of meat is not more tlian would g.o into an American .hainburger. " " If the verdict of the New Zealand electors goes against the party in power," klr Price added, "I think the .people of Britain will look upon it as a mahifestation of unwillingness of the members of the British race to accept regulation in private affairs. except when indispensible by pressude of war. ' ' Mr Price was imnressed by the statesmanlike qualities of the leaders of both New Zealand parties.
