Book On General Rommel Being Written

Received Tuesday, 7 p.m. LONDON, Nov. 21. A book on Rommel is being written by Brigadier Desmond Young, who met the German general in person after being captured in the desert. Brigadier Young has spent some time in Germany interviewing everybody who could give information on Rommel's career and death. He was nearing completion of the book when he had an urgent telephone call from Germany from Manfred Rommel, the general's son, y/ho had just received a batch of ihis father's private letters. These , documents were hidden by Rommel I in 1944, since they contained .violent lcriticism of Hitler's meddling in | military affairs. Among them are Rommel's "rules for desert warf&re." , The introduction to Brigadier ( Young's book is being written by ;Sir Claude Auchinleek.
