POTATO LOSS: (incurred in buying and dumping potatoes last season)... £159,200. AIRWAYS LOSS: . .. £398,488 (including £265,101 lost by National Airways on internai air services). TOURIST DEPT. HOTEL LOSS: 31/3/48 ...£58,482. Loss on passenger booking branch £10,346. SHIPPSNG LOSS: The Maui Pomare last year lost £38,796. HYDRO-ELECTRICITY LOSS: As at 31/3/48 the Government wrote off £1,166,533 in arrears of loan charges. LOSS ON ONEKAKA: Government meddiing in Onekaka steel has cost, to date, £267,448. OVER-BUDGETING BY MR. NASH: Added to this, Mr.v Nash last year took from YOU, the taxpayer, £14,300,000 more moneythan he actuaiiy needed. That is the Nash technique.
