WELLINGTON, Nov. 18 ■The steps being taken to obtain ad vice on the relative merits of appli cants for the position of conductor o! Ihe National Orchestra were outlined today by the Minister of Broadcastin^: (Mr Jones). He said the Hi'gh ..Commissioner ' , office in Lonclon had been asked to co opt the services of Sir James Shelle\ (formerly the NeW ^fe'Alahd director ' broadcasting), and of a B.B.O. otticei to report on London ."applications. In Australia the advice of the gen eral manager of the A.B.C. was bein^; sought.
