Booked Lodgings Failed To Find Them Again
AUCKLAND, NOV. 17, For two d&ys a youhg Petohe visitor to Auckland has been searching the city with police hefp for- his iodgings, and without success. It' all began when he stbpped off a bus from the South on Monday. He took a taxi and asked the driver if he knew of any niee place to stay overnight. The driver said he did and took him there. The young man deposited his luggage and left lo go on a sightseeing tour of the city. Some hours later he tried to flnd his room and failed. He went to the poliee and they did all they could; They took him out ih a patrol car and visited all the likely plaees but the young man • coud. not locate the street or house. He recalled that the hall was being papered. So the police rang paperhangers and decorators all over the city, but with rio luck. One a.m. on Tuesday found him ; alternative accommodation. The [ search continued until today, when : ,th.e young man pqt an advertise[ment in a newspaper appealing to the landlady, ahd left for home.
