Keen Interest In British By-Election
Received Wednesday 7 p.m. LONDON, Nov. 15. Exceptional interest is likely to b,e taken by all politieal parties in the South Bradford by-election, which will tgke plaee before Christmas. 1 The by-election has been cgused by the death of a Labour member, Mr M. F. Titterington, who won the segt with a majority of 9000 in. 1945. At the moment the contest threatens to be
a three-eornered one between a Con- 1 servative, a Labour, and a Libpral can- 1 didate, but suggestions are being made f that the Liberals should withdraw and j leave the other two a clear field. I As this is likely to be the last by- j election before the General Elpctioa, I It will be very caref ully watehed, not i only as an indieation of the standing J pf the Government but alsa becansel strong Liberal support is believed to J exist in the constitutency and the Gov- 1 'ernment and Opposition organisers. aiej both anxious to ascertain what use I will be made of this if the Liberal eandidate withdraws. The Conservative eandidate ia Mr J. L. Windly, a Bradford solicitor. The Labour eandidate is Councillor George Craddock, a member of the SheffiJd City Couneil and area organiaer _ in I the Shop Distributive and Allied i Workers' Union. The Liberal eandidate is Mr E.
