When the late bus was returning tp Foxton from Palmerston North on Saturday night, the driver had occasion to remohstrate with a Maori passenger for drinking on the bus. He threatened to put him off uniess he put the bottle away. The passenger, who was stated to be in a somewhat inebriated state, said he could not find the top but he overcame the difficulty by plugging it with a roll of notes. After he had left the bus at his destination, Rangitane, another passenger in the conveyance, noticed a wine-sodden roll of notes lying on the vacated seat'. He handed them to the driver who had them checked at Foton and found them to realise an amount of £3Q. They were later returned to the passengey.
