Lively Interest Shown In . Cattle Market There was a lively interest in a large ' offering of station cattle at tlie Feilding live. stoek sale yesterday, held in perfect summer weather conditions. The fact that recent rains had assured a strong pasture growth, influeneed gruziers requiring cattle for work or fattening and the yarding offered some useful sorts which found buyers at priees in keeping with current values. Grown bullocks not carryiug any worth while condition yet fresh enough, sold from £17 to ,£18 5s and yearling steers sold'to £12 17s Ud. In other departinents late rates pr^evailed with perhaps •a hardening tendency in the case of . good lines of hoggets in the store sheep pens. Although there was uo sale last ; wefek there was not the demand for t'ut sheep that was expected and wethers could not lind buyers. 1 Fat Sheep 'Most of the wether mutton on offer in the fat sheep pens was passed in »s buyers were not interested since many were still holding suilicient stocks. A total of 340 sheep was sold and of . these ewe mutton aecounted for 173 head. Compared with the sale a fortniglit back ewe mutton tops were 2s dearer and shorn hoggets were disposed of at late quotations. Dairy Cattle Prices for dairy cattle remained steady with saies as follows: Bpringing heifers £7, £9, £13, £14, to 22Agns; springing cows, £6, £9 10s, £13, £15 to £17 5s. Store Cattle A good supply of boner cattle sold readily at late rates as follows, cows £3, £3° 10s, £5, £5 2s 6d, £5 10s, £6 6s, £6 10s, £6 15s, £6 17s, £7 5s, £7 10s, £7 15s, £7 17s 6d, £8 5s, £8 7s 6d, £9, £9 2s 6d, to £10 2s 6d; empty heifers £t> 7s 6d to £9 5s; steer £16 10s.
