SHOOTING AT HAUTERE
Last Saturday saw the opening of the Hautere Defence Rifle Club's championship series with a dpuble shoot over 300 yards. The weather was ideal in the afternoon, but a rather tricky wind prevaHe'cT in the morning. Nevertheless, this did not stop C. Cobb from returning a score of 93 off the rifle. Scores off the rifle were: — C. Cobb 45—48—93, F. H. Monk 46— 46 — 92, L. E. Monk 44 — 48 — 92, B. F. Monk 45—46—91, N. S. Monk 46—44—90, R. L. Monk 48—42—90, H. A. Lumsden 44 — 46 — 90, F. Freeman 46 — 43 — 89, J. Clark 42— 43 — 85, B. Geange 39—42 — 81 and R. J. Meagher 40 — 34 — 74. Next Saturdav there will be a 10-shot over 500 and 600 yards.
