t PrSOiHRfl Mrs. I. Watts, of Kirk Street, Otaki, has returned from an extended vacation ■ spent in the South Island. Mrs. A. B. Boyd, who has been holi'daying in Hastings, has returned to her home in Bell Street, Otaki.Mrs. Kylie, who has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. J. Stuart, Kirk Street, Otaki, has returned to Wellington. Mr. J. C. Snowdon, of Iti Street, has returned home following an enjoyable holiday visit to the South Island. Mr. T. Collins, of Cohvent Road, owing to continued ill health has announced his intention of resigning the secretaryship of the Otaki Druids' Lodge, a position he has held for over 15 years. Bus For Political Meeting. A free bus is scheduled to leave, as advertised, for Levin on Thursday night on the occasion of the Prime Minister's visit there. Furtlier Sliow Awards. In addition to awards mentioned in earlier issues, Bill Verrant, of Te Horo, secured first place with .his entry in the breeding hunter 's class at the Royal Show last week. Meeting At Otaki Beach. Mr. J. J. Maher, the National can'didate, will deliver an address in the Anglican Beach Hall on Thursday nigho. He will address electors in the Anglican Hali, Otaki, on November 23. Mishap To Motor-cyclists. Failing to negotiate a sharp bend on the main highway south of Manakau, a local motor-cyclisl and pillion rider came to grief recently. It is understood that the cyclist is in Palmerston North Hospital for observation. Highway Improvement. The long-promised widening of the main Mghway at Otaki Railway, adjacent to the shopping area, appears to be well in hand. Public Works and Post and Telegraph employees are husily engaged in setting back fences and telegraph poles in the vicinity. Variety Concert. Over a lengthy period members of the Otaki Women's Institutfc have been practising most assiduously, and their efforts will culminate on Wednesday night next when they will present a variety concert in the Civic Theatre. Wellington and Palmerston North artists will he in support, with the president of the Wellington Magician's Club performing some intriguing "magic" numbers.
