Derailment Of Goods Train On Northland Line

AUCKLAND, Nov. 8. Eight waggons of a goods train were derailed- between Pokapu and Cpahi about 150 miles north of Auckland, at 8.30 tonight. Cnly one waggon was ser iously damaged but the track was rlpped up for a considerable distanee. It is believed an axle on one of the trucks in the middle of the tfain broke. The remaindey of the 27 waggons held the rails. Five of the derailed waggons were loaded with frozen meat: The derailment is expected to cause a fair amount of diSruption to the northern train services tomorrow. It -may be late at night before the track ife re stored and passengers on the expreasee will probably be transferred to buses to travel round the affected seetion.
