Received Sundav, 11 p.m. MYDNEY, Nov. 6. Three of New Zealand 's woiiien's tennis team played under considerable difficultiea in the mateh against Illawarra Suburbs at Rockdale todav. 111avvarra won by eight matches to oue. Early this morning Miss Judy Burke became ilJ at her hotel and the team manager, Mr, Arthur Richards, called i> doctor. Miss Burke recoverod later and aithough advisecl not to play obtained speeial permission to appoar. The captain of the team, Aliss Mavis Kerr, was suffering froni an mjured right shouider and tennis elbow in her right arni and she played vvith her arm bandaged. Miss J. Macgibbon sulfer ed from blisters on her fect early in ihe match and finished oue set after removing her shoes. The Illawarra Suburbs team contained one of Australia 'a leading plavers, Aliss Joyce Fitch, and the Australian junior hardcourt ehampion, Miss BeryJ Penrose. Also in the team was a former Australian doubJes ehampion, Mrs. McKay. The New ZeaJand girls found the slow courts caused the ball toiremain low, and it took them a considerable time to adjust their strokes. Miss Elaine Beecroft was the outstanding player for New Zealand. (She won one of her two matches. Miss Betty Potter pleased everybody with her delightfui net display in well-fought singles an i doubles matches.
