Reuter 's Hague correspondent says the steering committee on, the rpund table conference on Indonesia aceepted the amended text of a compromise proposal pn the status of Dutch New Guinea. The amendment did not alter the maximum period of one year during which it was suggested Dutch New Guinea should remain under Duteh sovereignty. It is believed the text .iucluded a provision that every effort should be made to settle Dutch New Guinea 's ultimate status as quickly as .possibte. _ '
