" It has been decided that the following goods will be decbntrolled and notice to this effeet will shortly appqac in the Gazette, ' ' wrote the Minister. The full list is as follows: — Confectionery: Ineluding medicated confeetionery and ineluding chocolates and ehocolate confeetions of all knds (except ehocolate biscu.its and ice: cream novelties), pastryeooks' smallgoods (ineluding all form o.f cakes, sponges, scones etc., as usually vended by pastryeooks' shops, but excluding1 small cakes, pastries and pies); calce decorations. Millinery, men's hats, ties, gloves other than gloves made of leathef or rubber.
Leather goods of the following types: (a) Ladies' handbags plain and faney; ovfernight bags, earryalls and shopping bags, satehels, folio cases, wallets and billfolds; (b) fancy and novelty leather goods sueh as bookends, servietterings, etc. rags. Wooden feneing posts. Jewellery of the following lcndsj Costume" jewellery, trinkets and brooches, rings, pearls and all personai ornaments whether made of precious metals or otherwise (but no ineluding watches and leather watch straps); souvenirs and trophies of all kinds; cigarelte cases and eigarette boxes; powder eompacts; manicure sets and brush and -omb sets; cuff link? and tiepins; silverplated ware such as tea and eoffee services; cake plates and fruit stauds; condiment sets, etc, (but excluding eutlery) ; radios.
Cosmetics of the following kinds: Compacts, powder fills and refills ineluding rouge of all kinds; deodorants in all forms; eyebrow pencils; faee and body theatrical make_-up preparations ineluding pastes and pigments; faee, ineluding skin creams and/lotions in all forms; fgce powders in all forms and types; hand creams and lotions in all forms; lipsricks in all forms; perfumery in all forms ineluding eau de colognn and lavender water and toilet water or toilet vinegar; perfume sachets, inelud ing lavender bags; fur garments and accessories. The Minister concluded his letter by stating: "Before replying fully to tbe marin points raised in the memorandum left with the Prime Minister and myself recently, I should like the opportunity of discussing with a small sub-commii-tee of vour council the whole poliey of price control as it affects manufacturers." The eonfer'ence decided to ask its council to set up the sub-committee asked for by the Minister and to make any recommendation which the eonferenee might decide.
