Personal. Mr. J. C. Snowdon, of Iti Street, is" spending a week in Christchurch. Mr. B. Housiaux, of Rangiuru Road, left on Saturday on a holiday visit to Christchurch. Mr. J. Mason, of Main Street, leaves tonight for Auckland en route to England. Mr. W. . Bryan, of Hastings, is visiting Otaki on account of the illness of his father, Mr. F. Bryan. Mrs. M. Williams and her daughter, Miss Valerie Williams, of Mill Road, are holidaying in Wairoa. .Mrs. Mere Rewi, of Mill Road, a resident of many years' standing, is in poor health, causing her friends and relatives anxiety. Mr. and Mrs. S. ' Edwards, of Mill Road, after a visit to the South Island, are expected back during the next few days. Miss Ini Morgan, of Otaki Railway, following a stay in the Palmerston North Hospital with pneumonia, is now reported to be well on the way to good health. Messrs Geo. Harris, aged 93, and his. brother, Harry, aged 86, are the guests of the former's son, Mr. H. Harris, Rangatira Street. The trip from Christchurch, whence they came, was made by air. Greyhound Notes. Legal won the Maiden Hurdles at Foxton during the weekend, but a re-run was ordered as Legal lost sighfc of the "hare." The dogs returnecf to the box but over-ran the "hare." Another re-run was called for but the owner of Legal withdrew him as he is only a pup and it was asking too much of him to run three times over the hurdles. Black-Pool-Sam carried his fame still further by beating Red Horizon .by half a length, annexing a ti-Ophy and stake for, his owner in the Puppy Race, eighteen months to two years. Tracer finished tliird in the Progress Hurdles.
