MASTERTON,. Nov. 1. "The disturbing feature of this case is the unsettling effect it has on nurses in that suspicion is created among innqcent people," said Detectiye Sergeant F. A. Gordon, in the Magistrates' Court today, when George Paku, aged 21 years, a labourer, v pleaded guilty to having been foimd wtihout lawful excuse in the vicinity of the nurses' home, Masterton, and t'o four charges of having stolen money from nurses. Paku was sentenced to a total of 12 months' gaol by the presiding jusyces on two of the five charges, and was convicted and discharged on Ihe other charges.
