Faultina Just Beat Merry Robin In Fast Rangitikei Cup

The Eangitikei Cup, feature race at Bulls on Saturday, was run in very fast time and the winner was Faultina narrowly froon Merry Robin which had made a fast run as the field approached the straight. Tenor Royal, which had set the pace from barrier-rise, was third, and next were Bronstar, Solimhine and Lord Holland. Faultina had been handy to the leaders all through and she had charge soon after turning f6r home. Then Merry Robin ranged up on the outer and for a moment looked like winning. Faultina, however, responded gallantly when the pressure was applied and she won by half a neck.
