Denial Of Starvation Of Russian Prisoners
LONDON, Oet. 29. The Hnited Press 's Berlin qorrespondent says that Field-Marshal von Aranstein denied that his troops starved Russian prisoners of war to death during the terrible -winter of 1941. Von Manstein, who is defending himself against war crimes charges, said the Germans kept the death rate within reasonable limits and "as a humane measure" allowed the local population to bring food jparcels to the prisoners.
