Levin Designed Ensemble At Royal Garden Party

From the thousands of guests at the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester's garden party at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, "Garcia," fashion observer for the Daily Record, recently featured in second place among the outstanding creations an ensemble worn by a New Zealander and designed and made in Levin. It was described as a smart blue suit embodying the "New Look" features and a bonnet in straw with net ties. "The wearer was Mrs. John Shearer," writes "Garcia," "and she is here from Nelson, New Zealand/ with her husband, who is taking a post-graduate surgery course." Further information has reveal-> ed that the designer and creator' of the ensemble was Mrs. A. Yorston, of Levin. Mrs. John Shearer is the eldest daughter of Ca.ptain and Mrs. MacDonald, of Queenwood Road.
