Government Grant To Help Games Team
WELLINGTON, Oct. 20. A grant of £4500 has been made by the Government to the New Zealand Olympic and British Empire Games Association, to help eover the cost ot preparing and outfitting the New Zea^ land team for next year's Empire G;ames, said the Minister of lnternaJ Affairs, Mr. Parry, today. The. Government appreciated the difficulties the association would meet in raising sufiicient funds to prepare the New Zealand team. On such an important occasion the Government felt the team should take the field in a manner enabling it wortliily to represent tlie " Dominioa sponsoring tlie Games. Mr. Parry repeated his earlier announcement that the Government liad approved a subsidy of £1 for £1 oi) the uet cost of holding the Empire Games.
