U.S. Move To Expand Atomic Energy Facilities
Received Friday, 10 a.m. WASHINGTON, Oct. 20. President Truman said today that he would ask Congres§ early next year for funds to expand the facilities of the United States Atomic Energy Commission, which is responsible for atomic bomb production. He said the decision was not influenced by Russia having thc atomic bomb. President Truman added that he would not know how much the expansion would cost until he had discussed details with the commission and the Budget Bureau.
