Asked To Be Sent Back To Borstal

INVEECARGILL. Oct. 19. When Allan Benjamin Summersby was brouglit before the Magistrate's Court today, he told Mr. W. A. Harlow, S.M., he wanted to go back to Borstal. Summersby escaped from the institution on Oetober 15 and was recaptured next day. He made the remark when Mr. Harlow asked hira why he had left, pointing out he had served half his temi and knew he would be eaught eventually. The warder accompanying Summersby told Mr. Harlow the escapee wanted more time at the instution so he could become more pi'oficient at the trade he was learning there. Summersby was recaptured after he was disturbed under a bed in the Nurses' Home at the Dee Street Hosiiital. He admitted stealing three sets of women 's underclothing from lines at the hospital. Mr. Harlow sentenced him to anothor 12 months.
